mailchimp widget
-
I want to add mailchimp plugin to my wordpress.com blog and I cant find the plugins option in my dashboard or anywhere else. I will be using lead pages for my opt-in page and need to install the mailchimp to collect emails. Is this possibly because I have a wordpress.com blog? Is this different than wordpress.org?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There IS no plugin option on a WordPress.COM blog. WP.com is a turnkey blogging solution for those who want to not worry about doing their own tech support, configuration, security, upgrades and theme editing. For security reasons it does not allow the Mailchimp code to be directly embedded into a WP.com page or post. You can LINK to an external page at Mailchimp or elsewhere that people can fill out.

Thank you very much for this reply. This explains a lot too me. Would it be possible to lead me in the right direction in finding out how to link an external page at mailchimp or elsewhere.

I don’t know Mailchimp well, I only know Aweber. Presumably Mailchimp gives you a page for your newsletter signup, like mailchimp.com/yourspecialURL, and just put that in a text widget with “Sign up here!” or whatever text, the same as any other text link.

Thank you thank you thank you. I am learning as I am going along and this was one of the bigger stumbling blocks I got stuck on. I got the link as made this work. Now, to move on to the next step in this whole process…hope all goes well :)
