mailchimp widget
-
I am trying to install the mailchimp widget as per their instructions. They indicate that there is a section under Settings that says “mailchimp widget,” but I can’t find it.
What do I do to install this?
Thanks!

Hi Susan!
Actually, the MailChimp widget cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites, only on self-hosted sites running WordPress as their blog platform.
You can certainly create your own widget that, when clicked, will link your visitors to your signup page on MailChimp.
Here are the instructions:

Hi Robyn!
I added an image to the Image Library, but when I went to make a widget, there was no place in the primary area to add either the image or the mailchimp link.
I’m living with a 24/7 severe migraine that’s going on 18 months and the neurological auras make it difficult for me to follow often the basic instructions.
Can you give me a step-by-step?
Thanks for you time and trouble,

Hi Susan!
I can certainly talk you through this, step-by-step. The only trouble is that I am not finding your MailChimp image in your Media Library.
Here’s your Library:

Could you please click Add Media and make sure your image does appear in your library?
When it does, let me know and I can be of further service. Just let me know when there’s something in your Library I can look at…and tell me specifically what I should be looking for!
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Hi Robyn!
Thanks for your response!
I think the problem is that I’m on wordpress.com and not wordpress.org. I’d consider switching, but I think it’s too much trouble to completely rebuild my site since I’d have to change my forwarding info as well.
Do you know of an easy way to handle this?
Thanks!

We do have a Guided Transfer upgrade that you can purchase. Happiness Engineers will help you move your site and get you all set up on WordPress.org.

That’s probably the easiest way to handle the transfer, but I can also give you a couple of links to some guides for doing the transfer yourself. :)
