mailto link works for Mac not Windows

The mailto links on my site work on Mac platforms, but not on Windows.
They work when friends access the site from their Macs or from their iPads, but not from their Windows computers. Didn’t ask about Chrome or IE, but I tried those browsers here at home and neither work.
The links have worked for years and I haven’t changed a thing, so it’s a mystery to me!
I use the usual format here

Please post an active link to a post or page that has this “mail to” link displaying on it.

BTW I clicked that link above and I’m on windows XP and it doesn’t work for me. That being said I never ever have those on my blog. I recommend using contact forms because they are secure so spam bots cannot harvest the email address. Would you like to try that? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

Other links in the site don’t work either, but I figure if I can get one to work, the others will follow!

I’ve been lucky with not being spammed. I did look at the contact form. I could just get rid of the other links and strictly use that form from here on in. It might be the best bet.
And sorry about that link in my question. I fired off the message without double-checking it.

This is the general link model:
<a href="URL HERE">Highlighted anchor text here</a>
This is the visual result it’s not actually linked here in the forum.
Highlighted anchor text here1. Enter the anchor text you want to link to first such as “whatever”.
2. Then use your mouse to highlight that anchor text. (If you don’t highlight the anchor text the chain icon will remain grayed out and not be useable.)
3. Next click the chain icon in the editor and proceed to create the link after you tick the box for the link to open in a new window. -
I’ve always used the a ‘href= …’ format so why it stopped working after 4 years, I do not know!
My links to other pages work, just not the email links.
I think I will revamp it and just have a contact form. Lord knows how many chicken people haven’t been able to get through!
