Main Blog Page – Summarizing Posts

I can’t seem to figure out how to do this. On some blogs, there is the title of the post and a litte bit of the post, then people need to click on the title to see the rest of the post. On my blog, the entire post shows up for each of my blog posts. How do I change this? I’ve added a summary for the posts, but it still shows up with all the text. Anyone have any ideas?

Use Icon #13, the dotted line. BUT, go to the end of the paragraph you want on the front page, hit Enter to make a new line, THEN hit the icon to add the Read More tag. Otherwise it sometimes splits your code and causes problems.
When you say you’ve “added a summary” what do you mean by that?

@marketingdesign – do you mean excerpt for summary? And what’s the url of your blog, please? The site linked to your name is not it.

There’s a box somewhere, I think when you do a post, that says add a summary, or maybe an excerpt.

Yes, the excerpt box is one of the advanced options in the editor. The excerpt appears in your feed (I just checked yours and it is functioning properly) not in your blog.
BTW, your correct url does not include the w’s. People can get to you if they use it, but they are not part of your url.

I’m sorry I’m new around here and need help asap. My problem is exactly the same with you somewhat. I wanna upload a story I wrote but I want it to be like what you said earlier: there is the title of the post and a litte bit of the post, then people need to click on the title to see the rest of the post.
How do i do that? I thought to make a new post with a summary and stuff in it and i want to add a link that will lead to the story but i don’t seem to get what to do to make that happen.
I thought i would have to like copy-paste my story to a page and then somehow put the link of the page on the post that i said but it didn’t work either. How do i make it happen? It has been bugging me. Hope to learn from you guys soon cuz i can’t wait to see my story appear on my blog. Thank you for the attention and for the helpful yet patient answer. Please be gentle.
