Currently trying to code different headings for pages on my site. When I have coded in the heading (the one I want is the one under it) the main heading (the black and white image) is still displaying over the top. The code I have at the moment is:
.page-id-790 .site-header {
background: url(‘https://ericamulkern.files.wordpress.com/2024/01/header-about.jpg’) scroll rightThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Erica –
Will you tell me more about the desired outcome? It sounds like you want each page to have a unique header – rather than 1 header applied to the entire site. Is this correct?
Personally, I wouldn’t approach this with CSS modifications. It will require your attention every time the theme or browser is updated. You’ll need to ensure the site looks as you want it all the time in those different environments.
A better solution would be to build your own theme rather than customizing an existing one. Our editor is entirely customizable, which is not as daunting as it sounds. I promise. Go to https://wordpress.com/themes/ and scroll to the bottom to find the “design your own” option. That process will land you at this starting point.
Another option is to utilize a custom header plugin. That functionality is included with a plan upgrade to the Creator option. This would be pro-rated at check out for you. You’ll also see a drop-down around the 1-year text on the checkout screen, displaying the multi-year hosting discounts. These are significant and the most affordable way to host your project. This plan will also include advanced SEO tools, increased media storage, and live chat access with our support team.
If that makes sense, your current plan can also be upgraded to a multi-year option. Just let us know, and we will take care of it.Please write back to us here with any other questions.

Hello!
So I like the theme I have, it looks sleek and has a working video. I think that changing the theme or building my own custom one just isn’t an option for me.
Then plugin wise, I would need to update my subscription for that which is a lot more expensive. I have seen codes online but I just need to see if there is an exact specific one. I want to have a unique header as you said and I would also like to have a different header based on:
Mobile, tablet and website. This can be done coded and I think just suggesting plugins or uprooting my whole theme isn’t particularly useful

Good Morning!
It’s understandable not wanting to make significant changes this far into the project.
I want to have a unique header as you said and I would also like to have a different header based on:
Mobile, tablet and website. This is built into the product on our end. The themes are all mobile and tablet responsive by design, and you won’t have to add any custom code for that to happen.
I shared the plugin idea because that will be the easiest for you to implement the desired change and the easiest to troubleshoot if needed. Our team cannot help you build or maintain any custom code. You can use CSS modifications on the existing hosting plan. An upgrade would not only allow you to access plugins but it will also get you the fastest access to our support team via live chat, enhanced media storage, additional features, and tools to help you with SEO and other items.
If you’d like to hire a developer to help you with the CSS possibilities, you can use this vetted source https://www.upwork.com/nx/search/talent/?nbs=1&q=css Keep in mind that this is probably going to cost you as much as the plan upgrade and you will not gain any of the benefits of the upgrade.
Do you have any other questions about this information?
