Hi, I am trying to create a menu that do not show sub pages as a drop down list. I want the sub page to be located inside the parent page. For example – Kitchen is a page shown on the main menu. Once clicked on Kitchen a list of categories (Mugs/Pots/Pans/Place Mats) to show up after a short description associated with ‘Kitchen’. When clicked on any sub categories like mugs, I want a list of mugs to be shown. Then customer can select the best suited mug and proceed to check out.
Seems simple but it going me going in circles.

After reading your question, I get that you wish to show child pages on the parent page, but not on the menu. Please correct me if I missed something here.
Did you try using the parent page feature?
Here is how you can add child pages to parent page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-options/For the latter part where you mentioned that you wish to show categories on the page, You can simply add hyperlinks to the categories you wish to list on the page.
For instance: If you have a category called ‘Mugs’ you can add text ‘Mugs’ and hyperlink that to the ‘Mugs’ Category list page.Here is how you can get the category page URL:
-> Visit the WP-Admin (You can find an option to this on the left-hand menu on WordPress.com or the WordPress.com app)
-> Go to Posts -> Categories -> click view for the category you wish to get the URL for.
Now you can use this URL to hyperlink.I hope you find this helpful,

You are correct, I want only the parent to be shown on the main menu and the sub to be inside the parent page which is only visible when then parent page has been clicked.
Main Menu / kitchen – open page to shown all sub pages (mugs / cups/ etc) click on Mugs which will show your a product page with all 6 mugs to choose from.
Not sure how to link all 6 mugs to the hyper link if that is the only way.

You got this correct. The only thing I think I could have explained better is that you have to link to a category, and not the products. Assuming that you want the user to view the page, then click on a hyperlink and see all the ‘Mugs’.
To do this, you can create a category(if you haven’t already) make sure you have all the products you wish to be in that category. Then view the categories from WP-admin and click on view. Just below the category name.
