Main Sidebars stopped displaying!

My main sidebars (content and primary sidebar widgets) do not show on my blog anymore. The only widget that is visible is my add-on for HTML text. I don’t know why this has suddenly happened. I’ve tried deactivating the twenty-fourteen theme and reactivating it; I’ve also tried other themes and the widgets show up when I use these. However, for twenty-fourteen, they have simply disappeared. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Have you changed your theme recently? Changing a theme, or testing a theme and returning to the previous theme, can result in the sidebar widgets being sent to the inactive widgets area of the Widgets page. They can be dragged and dropped to their proper places.

No, I haven’t made any changes. The only think I tried was trying the Premium since I was considering purchasing the upgrade. But since I reverted back, the menus have completely disappeared. I’ve changed themes, I’ve changed it back to twenty-fourteen. I’ve made new menus, I’ve done everything I thought I should to bring them back, but the widgets simply do not show on the blog anymore. In the widgets settings, they are present and visible. They just don’t display on the blog anymore.

Hi there,
I’m seeing a theme switch two months ago and then two more within the past 2 days. Please note that a theme switch will move your widgets to inactive. I’m not positive if that was the reason, but first things first, I’m seeing quite a few widgets that are inactive. You can see it by going to Appearance > Widgets in your Dashboard. Scroll to the bottom and drag them back to their original locations. Let me know if that works!

Yes, the theme switch two months ago was to twenty-fourteen, which I customized with sidebars and a header image etc. The theme switches you see in the past two days are the ones I made after I discovered that my sidebars have disappeared. Note: the sidebars are appearing on every theme except twenty-fourteen. I’ve now deleted all the widgets and made entirely new ones and they are not showing as well.

It’s okay, I’m just going to change the theme altogether since nothing else seems to work.

I figured it out. I had added a div styling to the text box widget; it made all the widgets below the box disappear for some reason. I just removed the styling and they all came back.
