Main URL no longer Corresponds to Home page Content

Help, please! I thought ‘Copy a page’ would be an easy way to change my May hikes to my June hikes on my Home page. However, I somehow removed or, rather, replaced my Home page content with my Posts content. I can’t seem to edit my Posts content now, as it says I am currently editing my Posts page. Also, and most importantly, my permalink that is just my url: thursdaynighthikes.wordpress.com , is gone/not listed as a page. I have the material from it but it shows up as thursdaynighthikes.wordpress.com/home and Does Not even appear when I press my HOME navigation.

This may sound convoluted, and probably is. I’m afraid I’ve lost my website’s ability to show my true homepage (currently with my June hikes) when I use my main (top) url. Would choosing a revision from weeks ago work to undo all I did? Or anything else? Thanks again for advice!

    Hi @ljquammen,

    Try going to https://thursdaynighthikes.wordpress.com/wp-admin

Then go to Settings > Reading

Where it says “Front page displays”, I would imagine right now, yours is set to “Your latest posts”. If that’s the case, set it to “A static page”, set your “Front page” to your Home page that you made, and set “Posts page” to Posts.

    Does that resolve your issue?

Thank you, helloimamanda, that corrected the problem.

Since I was never in Settings at all I’m unsure how my homepage got changed from Home to Posts but I will let that be a mystery for another day. You helped me end this day on a happy note.
