Maintaining formatting moving a document from O365 Word to WordPress
-
We have written docs in O365 Word.
How do we move them to WP with the contents page and contents page linked to headers? Effectively maintaining formatting. -
Hi there!
What’s the editor you used to create the post? The code generated by pasting content from Microsoft Word (and other word processing editors) can cause conflicts with the code at WordPress.com. We strongly encourage our users to use the WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on-the-fly. If you’d really like to do offline blog post creation, you might try software, e.g., Windows Live Writer.
If your document has heavy formatting and doesn’t cleanly paste, you can try pasting it in as Plain Text using the ‘Paste as text’ button in the WordPress.com post editor.
You can read more about best practices for adding content created in a word processing program here:
Since you mentioned your text had two columns, if you’d like to maintain that, I’d recommend using the Columns Block and pasting the text to each column separately:
hope the above helps
Thanks
