  I already have a website. It was created for me by somebody else using WordPress. I want to learn how to update it myself. Where/how can I best learn this?

  You may not need to read all of the steps in that guide since you already have a site.

  Step 10 of the guide is how to learn how to make posts and pages which is what you may be looking for how to do.
