    Okay. I don’t exactly understand the difference between the SM icons that are part of the theme and the PNG that I am using for the Yelp icon. Are the theme icons part of a link and so the color and hover state are applied differently?

    The social icons built into the theme’s social menu use something called an “icon font” (called Genericons) where icons are treated as a sort of alphabet, and so they can be manipulated with CSS as if they were text.

    For Yelp, we’re “faking” the icon using an image, instead of text, so the options to modify it with CSS are a bit different.
