Major disfunction

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I messed with the widgets trying to reset them after playing too much with many functionalities. I used the widgets cleaner plug in or something like that… And now my blog is not working at all, not even able to add media, or write a post or save a pages and of course the customizer is totally down. I get a blank page whenever I launch the customizer! What is that is that I had mapped my domain and now kind of lost access to it given can’t do anything on my blog. I also cancelled all my paid plans out of anger! Is there a way to start from scratch using my domain name? Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello!

You can try recovering the lesmusicalesdebaabdath.wordpress.com by emptying it out.. there’s a guide on that here: that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

fI you would rather start a new site from scratch, then go here: https://wordpress.com/start

Once that site is established, you’ll be able to map the domain to it.

I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thank you!
I already started a new blog using another domain name and tried to add to it my old domain but it keeps telling that the domain is mapped on wordpress and that i can’t claim it back!

    Hi,

I’m tagging this post for the staff’s attention. I’m sure they can assist you with this.

I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!

Actually what I want is to start all over with a clean interface while using : lesmusicales.org as a domain. i kind of learned many things, but the hard way :)

  • Unknown's avatar

Then I would suggest going here again: https://wordpress.com/start

Get the site set up with a WordPress.com name eg: lesmusical.wordpress.com, then when your ready, contact the staff to help with the domain mapping.

Hello, Done. The new domain name is: lesmusicalesdebaabdathblog.wordpress. Can you please guide me so that I transfer it to lesmusicales.org?

I tried, it says it is already mapped.

    Thanks,
    S

It says it’s free with my domain but then it says it is already mapped with wordpress. thanks again.

  • Hi there,

Why did you not contact us via live chat so we can help you fix this? Your Business Plan comes with real time backups that we can restore for you with a single click, but we can’t do anything if you cancel the plan.

Unless you buy a new Business Plan, the best I can do is to revert your site to the state it was in before you added the first plugin, but this means you might lose any content you added after doing that.

Your domain, lesmusicales.org, won’t be available again until after its expiration date in June next year. Cancelled domains don’t become available again immediately, and if you cancel a domain there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use it again in future.

In this case, though, I can still restore that domain to your account. Please confirm if I should do that. If you want to start over with a new site I’ll still need to revert your old Business Plan site before you’ll be able to connect the domain to a different site. I don’t see any other sites in your account, though, so if @scorbani is also you, it means you’ll first have to transfer ownership of the domain once it is restored.

I would recommend that you re-purchase the Business Plan, then I can restore your domain and show you how to restore an old backup of your site to get it back to the way it was, but let me know if you’d prefer to restart with only the domain on a different site and account.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your answer.
Yes, please do restore my site to its initial state. I don’t really care about the data in it given I was learning.
I will most probably repurchase the plan but am just waiting to get refunded on the previous one I cancelled.
Yes, please restore it to its initial state.
Thank you for letting me know when it is done.
    Regards,

  • Should I restore the domain as well so you can use it again? I can restore both lesmusicales.org and lesmusicalesb.org which are already past the refund period.

I can also still restore lesmusicalesonline.com, though you have been refunded for that domain, and it will be released in a few days as you cancelled it on the same day you bought it.

    Hi,
    I only need lesmusicales.org.
    Thank you,

  • Unknown's avatar

And of course I need the domain.
    Thanks,

  • Unknown's avatar

And since the plan related to lesmusicales.org is past the refund period, please, can you restore the plan too?? thanks,

  • Your plan has already been refunded, so I cannot restore the plan. If you want the Business Plan again, you’ll need to buy it again, as I explained above.

I’ve restored the domain, lesmusicales.org. However, we are having trouble disconnecting it from the site and restoring the site to how it was before you installed plugins.

It seems the Advanced Database Cleaners plugin you’d used completely messed up the site’s database and disabled features of Jetpack your site needs to work properly. I’m waiting for help from a developer to fix that up. I’ll let you know once the site is reverted and the domain available to use again. Please don’t make any changes until you hear from me again.

Ok, Well noted and thanks again. I will not touch the site until you give me a green light.

  • Okay, your site is now back to before. You can either use the domain with this site still, or you can transfer the domain to another site/account if you prefer.

Transfer a Domain to Another WordPress.com Account

Be careful of plugins promising to reset your site. Those are blunt tools at best, and as likely to break your site as restoring it. Rather invest in a good backup service, though if you have the WordPress.com Business plan that comes as part of the package already :)
