Major help needed! All around issues (customization, transfer to .ORG, etc)

EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK is wrong right now with my blog drama.
The story:
I had an existing wordpress.com theme and paid for a domain name on GoDaddy.com which I linked with my wordpress.com blog. I started the blog 3 months ago to document my travels across the country and promote my vintage clothing store. Everything was fine. On the month before the road trip began (May) I decided to take a graduating intern from the Art Institute graphic department to help me give my blog a cosmetic upgrade AKA customization. ( I know nothing about code, etc.)
Great, so they send me an intern right away. I expProblem #1:
The “intern” wants to “build the site from the ground up” which I was extremely hesitant and confused about. (Why can’t we just customize the existing blog?) I explain to him what I want to see in the blog customization. So, he spends weeks building a “wire frame”. So…I’m not seeing any progress on the existing blog and my take off is getting closer.Problem #2:
He has never worked with Worpress before. Hasn’t researched the fact that I will lose my WP.com subscribers, my dashboard appearance, my features (ie. reposting from another blog, “featured images” on a post, my stats summaries…etc, etc.). I have to figure all this out on my own and point these things out to him.Problem #3:
He has me purchase the $13 site redirect from WP.com to the GoDaddy.com Worpress download app he has me install in my GoDaddy account where the new blog will be hosted. Now, because I already had the site linked from GoDaddy.com to begin with, the blog is pinging back and forth between WP.com and GoDaddy.com so, you see a blank page most of the time when you sign into my blog. GD.com said this would stop in 48 hours (That was Monday, its now Sunday).Problem #4:
As I stated earlier, I can’t post anything from WP.com com anymore (if I want non-subscribers to see my recent posts). Now I have to sign into some long-winded URL that leads to a WP.org log-in. The dashboard, when it shows up on my screen, looks generic and I am concerned my subscribers still can’t see me in their WP.com “READER” (since I am now on WP.ORG). Also, it seems to have problems in different browsers (Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari). This is of course, if and when you see the actual home page show up and not a blank white page that looks like it’s still loading.Problem #5:
We tried to cancel my domain name link with GoDaddy and they said it would take up to 48 hours. It’s been 5 days!!!! I’m still not able to see my blog, the road trip officially started Tuesday and I’ve been passing out my business cards to people and they won’t even be able to see my site. I’m embarrassed. I don’t know what to do anymore. This blog is my business right now and I can’t even use it.So, WHAT DO I DO?
I’m wondering if there is a way to go back to WP.com and just pay for all the upgrades so I can customize my blog there? Or do you HAVE to have WP.org to do that? Why can’t WP.ORG have all the same features as .com? Isn’t it the same company? WP.com support doesn’t give a phone number and I can’t keep checking my email from the middle of the desert. I need to talk to someone. Should I be even more patient? I’m scared to make any phone calls and cancel anything at this point because I don’t even understand what is happening with all these darn redirects and stuff.Someone please help. I’m desperate. The site is:

update:
I cancelled my account with GoDaddy and redirected my site back to wordpress.com. It’s back to the basics I guess. -
It looks like you still have some sort of redirect on your rocknroam.wordpress.com/ blog – since I end up at http://www.rocknroam.com/ – so you probably also need to make sure the site redirect is not sending traffic off your rocknroam.wordpress.com/
Are you also trying to get rocknroam.com/ mapped to your blog here so when someone goes to rocknroam.com/ your blog here at rocknroam.wordpress.com/ with rocknroam.com/ showing in the address bar of the browser?
Do you have email going to rocknroam.com? As in your-name – at – rocknroam.com?
