Major importing problem
-
I tried to import my Blogger blog, and unfortunately, it only imported the posts up until the page break of each post. So I went through and deleted all those posts that were imported, and then took out all the page breaks of every post I had written, and I tried to reimport, but after I click “authorize” it sends me over to the authorization page, and then that kicks me back to the “authorize” button like nothing happened. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you tried importing using a blogger (.xml) export file? You can upload that file at Tools -> Import -> Blogger -> http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/havebloggerexportfile.jpg
Let me know how that goes.

I discovered that all of my posts were still in the trash, so I permanently deleted them and tried to import them again, and it worked. Thanks.

Thanks. Related to this question, I ran across a blog that gave this advice about migrating from Blogger to WordPress: “Internal links are an excellent SEO tool and help readers find relevant content in your blog. However, links you created in Blogger end with the tag .html – but on WordPress they don’t. If you don’t fix these, you will have more ‘page not found’ errors. And you lose the chance to engage your readers!”
If I don’t go through and manually change all the links to my previous posts, am I really going to deal with this problem?

Could you please send a link of a post with such links in it?
Note that you can read more about SEO on WordPress.com at http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/

Sure. But you didn’t answer my question. Is that quote accurate?
-
That’s accurate. However, on WordPress.com we automatically redirect the .html links to the correct page, this should prevent any ‘Page not found’ error to happen.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have two more questions: (1) for some reason, I only have a Twitter and RSS share emblem at the top of my blog, and not Facebook or anything else, but I can’t find a way to fix that; and (2) I want my posts to have a nice little picture under the date, rather than just a blank square; how do I do that?
-
Actually, I just figured out question 2. I need to “Set a Featured Image.” But how about the other question?

You can go to Appearance -> Theme Options -> Subscribe Links to enable other social media links.
