Make a menu item pop up in a new tab
-
Hi everyone,
We want our “Login” button to open in a new tab, since it takes the user off the site.
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
There is an option to ‘Open link in a new tab’ for menu items. You can select this option in the Menu area of your Customizer:

That should do what you are looking for :)

Hi there,
I don’t know why, but I’m not getting that option on my end. It looks the exact same but without the “Open link in a new tab” box.

Hi Courtney,
Hummm, that’s odd. Can you see the option when using a different browser? Do you see ‘Open link in a new tab’ on any of the menu links in your Customizer?

Hi Courtney,
It is just the Login button you want to open in a new tab? Let me know and I’ll tick the option for you — then at least it’s working how you want it to. In the meantime, we can look into why the option isn’t displaying.
If you have it installed, can you check to see if the option is there on Internet Explorer and Firefox? It would also be useful if you could take a screenshot of what you are seeing. You can upload it to your Media Library here:

Once you’ve done that, let me know and I’ll take a look.
Thanks!

Yes, it is just the Login button. I had already tried them both earlier, and it basically looks the same as yours without the checkbox. If you could tick the option for me that would be amazing!

Hi there,
The login link now opens in a new tab. I’ve sent an email to the email address on your account, I’ll follow up with you there. Please let me know if you don’t receive it.
Thanks!
