Make blog posts full width

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hey, I’m trying to figure out how to edit my site so that when you go to read the blog posts (click on the post and go to the post page) the text is full width without those annoying empty bars on either side. I’ve burned an hour trying to figure it out and everything I do ends up messing up my home page as well. I don’t want to change the home page, just the blog posts.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Sorry, I forgot to add- I’m using the Karuna theme.

  • Hi there,

    So you want the content area on your single posts to be wider?

    You can use the following CSS to do that:

    .no-sidebar:not(.page-template-full-width-page):not(.page-template-front-page) .content-area {
    	max-width: 850px;
    }

    I would caution against making it too wide, though – making the content area too wide can make the text on your site wider to read. That is why all themes are designed on purpose to restrict the width of text content.

    Thank you! I’ll use the chat in the future- I wasn’t sure if that applied to custom CSS queries.
