make both a page and a post out of an article?

  Is it possible to post an article in both Page and Post form? I would like to present something as a Post but then keep it under the header as a Page.

  I would do a Copy/Paste to experiment but fear that I might bollix up the works, and the original copy is loooong.

  I decided to just click it to html, copy, and paste as a post, but I still would like to know if there is some button to click that would duplicate something and put into a different form like Page to Post or Post to Page.

  There is no button. What you did was the only way. Generally it is not a good idea to have duplicate content on a blog (such as a page and a post). Search engines get suspicious of things like that. My suggestion would be to have the content one place or the other but not both.
