Make Facebook stop using an image at all
-
Whenever I autopublicize a link to Facebook from my blog, it grabs an image. However, there are no images available, so it shows on my Facebook page as a giant block of white with a tiny bit of text underneath it. I would rather publicize as just a text post only without the giant square of nothingness. I don’t want to start adding pictures to my blog posts because I don’t want to have to pay $5 for a stock image just to post a blog, that’s ridiculous. It’s equally ridiculous to spend hours looking for a free image I am allowed to use. Can I just force Publicize to send my posts to Facebook as regular text posts? I would hate to lose the automation as I schedule most of my posts.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For now I am getting a single image to put as a feature image on all my blog posts to avoid all my posts on Facebook looking really weird, like they haven’t fully loaded yet, but it would be really awesome if I could just make Facebook post as plain text so I’m still watching this thread. Thanks! :)

There isn’t a way to force your posts to go to Facebook without any images. The best solution would be to upload a Blavatar to your site:

Ideally, if there isn’t an image associated with the post, the Blavatar will be shown. Can you give that a try?

Just wanted to let you know about a resource that I’ve found particularly helpful:
There are some really cool collections of awesome stock photos there!

Thanks so much!! I thought I had a Blavatar but I had a gravatar, lol. I will try that, and thanks for the site link! :)

You could make a simple graphic in Canva.com that contains the title of blog post and size it to 1200×628 for FB link dimensions. While it can be a pain, having something there helps the link gain traction in FB.
