make images clickable (to go to a specific page)
-
Hi there,
I have set up a new page – published at brentonschwab.com/works1/ where I would like the images to be clickable and NOT go into the gallery but to a specific page (2017, 2016, 2015 etc.) I have tried with caption ids, images, posts and looked into portfolio pages, but to no avail (currently the page is back to gallery ids … so I understand why it does go to the gallery).
I have been advised in live chat that the quickest solution would be to write the link in each of the image’s caption, and set each image to link to nothing, but then again the images become unclickable.
Seen that the better solution will be writing custom HTML and CSS
can someone please advice how I can set this up in the most responsive way (html / css)? My theme is Gridspace btw.Thank you for your time and advice!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @brentonschwab,
It’s possible, but you can’t do it with an image gallery. Once inside the media library, choose the images you want to have in your page. When you click on an image in the media library you’ll see a menu for it on the right side of the screen. Go down until you see the ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS. There’s a Link to drop down menu here. Choose Custom URL and insert the url you want here.
Once you’ve inserted all the images, I would also make sure the links open in new tabs once they’re clicked (but this is my personal preference). To accomplish this, go to your Text mode in your editor and insert target=”_blank”into your HTML for each image, like this:
target=”_blank”><img src=”https://yourblogcom/date/yourpicture.jpg? />

Sorry, the link at the end was supposed to be:
<a href="http://yoururl.com" <strong>target="_blank"</strong>><img src="https://yourimage /></a> -

Btw, making the images open in new tabs is done a lot easier if you just head over to the Visual mode in the editor. Click on the image, click the pencil symbol to edit it, and check the option for Open link in a new tab.
