Make it possible to upload new themes

    The themes in WordPress.com is SO oldschool weblog.. How about getting up to date and give the users the option of adding their own designs (or something they downloaded from the great collection of wordpress themes out there on the net)?

    Even blogspot and many smaller free weblog-sites gives the user this opportunity. So I can’t really see why wordpress.com still fumble around with designs from when webloggin was a new thing..

    One reason we cannot use themes from outside wordpress.COM is that they will not work here like they are. They have to be modified to work here, and they also have to be closely inspected for security issues. You would be surprised how many themes out there have security issues that can compromise blogs, and some of them are done that way on purpose.
