Make my blog off line for changes

  Hi, I’ll change the theme of my blog, and don’t want people access it while I’m changing. How can I turn my blog off line? I know I can turn it to private, but is there another way to turn it off line? Maybe with a page that says it’s changing?

  You could leave your blog online, perhaps with a new post saying your site is under construction.

  The best way to do a makeover for your site is to make a new private blog. Export your live blog, with the images etc. to your new test blog. Then you will be able to make the improvements and changes using all your data. When you are happy with the changes, you can either copy the widgets, theme options, etc to you live blog in a few minutes; or you can export and import the changes to your live blog.
