make my posts page appear like a blog feed ?

  Namaste WP,
  I am trying to figure out how to make my ‘posts page’ (blog) show all of my posts in a blog feed format…

  At the moment my posts page is displaying all my posts full text + pictures, which makes the page itself pretty lengthy over time. How can I make my posts page just show snippets of all my posts with their ft. image + few sentences of text?

  What’s the name of your theme you are using on your blog?

  This will help us try to figure out a way to do what you need or see if it’s possible at all. Some features may be theme specific.

  Hi,

  Thanks for your reply! I am using the Sela theme with a static front page and a “blog” page for the posts page.

  If the feature I am needing is not available with the Sela theme, would it be possible to do it via coding?

  No – you can’t change the code on WordPress.COM blogs

  Hi Brittany,

  I think a possible solution for what you need is to simply insert the Read More Tag after the first couple of lines/sentences to each one of your posts. This will cause each post to display only the first couple of lines/sentences (along with your feature image if you have one) and a ” Continue reading” link which will take the reader to the post’s individual page. To see it in action, check out the first two posts @ nerdepic.wordpress.com which are using the Read More Tag. Compare them to the rest of the posts which are displaying in their entirety.
