Make my titles external links
-
I’d like my titles to be links to external sites. That is, I’d like my titles to refer to articles that I am linking to. Right now, if I click on the title, it simply takes me to a page where I can post a comment.
Is this possible? -
It might be possible with the CSS upgrade, but it would be REALLY irritating and disorienting for your readers.

It might. But it might not if user was relating to my site as a list of news stories. For example, on http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ many of the titles link to news stories on external sites.
In any case, I got the css upgrade, and it doesn’t appear to be possible…

Typically, sites link to sources in subheads, or in links within or at the end of the post. The Huffington Post might do things differently, but the default assumption is that the title of your post is its permalink. People linking to your site will assume that it is, and so you might lose technorati and google juice if they dont’ notice the difference and end up linking to your source story.

It’s not possible. You’d have to modify the underlying php files to do that and since we’re on a shard environment, you’re going to be doing that for everybody here.
It’s how we do a tag system for the standard MU platfrom and even there, we’re adding in a second wordpress install to do it.
