Make posts URL '/blog'
-
Is there a way to make the URL of the posts we write have ‘/blog/'”title of post”. We have a main blog page but I’m not sure how to make that the parent page of each post. Right now, each post has ‘websitename.com/”title of post” instead of “websitename.com/blog/’titleofpost”. Just makes it a bit difficult when tracking analytics. Hope this makes sense.

Hi @marissad1463f0ef3, could you send a link to the site? I don’t see one on this account.
In short: you can change change permalink settings if your site plan supports that. You would want to consider existing links and redirects and what not though.
Just to clarify too, if you’re managing your own copy of WordPress with a different host, you’ll want to use the correct forums (or just look for info on permalink tips there)

The site is Kangarootime.com. I can change the permalink URL slug but it will change the name to “kangarootime.com/blog-‘postname’ and I’m trying to make it so each url is kangarootime.com/blog/’postname’ so it is essentially hosted on the blog site.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.
