Make private page in Blog format
-
Hi All,
Is there a way to make my Private (password-protected) page into a Blog format.
So I can add new posts to it ?
The Private page right now is set as a page… So if new things go onthis page, then I have to do it manually and set it up like a blog.
Is there any way to make Private a Blog ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have only one page for posts: you can’t post to a page.
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/posts-on-pages/You could link to a private blog, then invite users to view it.
You could password protect individual posts, but the titles will be visible to all. -
Hi thank you for the reply.
If I link to a Private Blog, presummably you meant to set up a completly new blog again via wordpress.com and just link it to the Private page with a password – right ?
Or, how many post pages can you have ?
Is there any way to make my Private page in Journal entry format, or post format ?

Thank you so much.. I think I am figuring this out, with the help of your posts-on-page link.
I have create a category of private
I have created a test post called “private post”
This page/post called “Private” is on the menu and is pulling info from all my private categories
But, this post is still on the home page – how do I remove it. Is there a way, I read somewhere that all posts need to stay on the home page and there is no way to remove them.
I have password protected the private category – so this will work for the Private Menu button / linkOn that page – (click private from the menu) – it comes up as ARCHIVE for the Private Category – How do I remove the words “Archive”…
It is not an archive, but a new post for the Private password-protected page.
Hope this makes sense and am really looking forward to the reply.

You can’t.
You could password protect individual posts, but the titles will be visible to all.

Thank you very much timetheif for this… I understand completly how this works, and think the best way to keep all titles and posts private for the Private page – is to just make posts manually, putting text on top of text with some sort of line separating them.
Will leave Private as a static page – but password-protected.
Thanks for the replies.

If you can’t post to pages, than what is the objective of having multiple pages?
Blog’s are categorized…. So…. ????? -
Posts and Pages each have their own use: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
I have things like About, etc. on pages.
