Make Site Private

    Hi, I’ve repeatedly turned my wordpress site to private but it is still showing up when my name is searched in google. Please advise urgently how to fix this.

    Hi there,

    Setting a site to private will not prevent it from appearing in search results if it has already been indexed by search engines. It only prevents people from being able to visit the site, i.e. if anyone clicks a link in a search result, they’ll be taken to a page that says the site has been marked as private by its owner.

    The only way to have your page removed from search results, is to contact each search engine directly and request that they remove the site on their end. This is not something we have any control over.
