Make site title visible in search engines and bookmarks w/out General Settings?

*Without* going to Settings >> General to fill in the Site Title / tagline fields, is it possible to have my site title visible to search engines and also have the title appear along with my gravitar when the site is bookmarked. (As things are now, bookmarking shows the actual URL next to the gravitar.)

I prefer not to use General Settings because I have a header image as a sort of masthead that accomplishes the same thing (and I like it better). Filling in the General Settings fields only results in the same information being displayed twice.

  • No, it has to be set via Settings -> General, otherwise your blog does not have a title to share with the search engines.

If you have a Custom Design upgrade, you can hide the title via CSS.
