make text widget material into a shortlink

    I added a text widget to my humor blog (running the vigilance theme.) I want to be able to update that text widget several times a week and make it a shortlink to push to twitter. Is this possible? Or is there another way to do this without making the text inside the widget a shortlink? I’m new to twitter too. Thanks
