    Hi!

    I’m currently using the theme Chaotic Soul and was wondering if there was a way to modify the header or the CSS code so that my header will be a link to my homepage. I’ve purchased the CSS edit but I don’t knwo if it’s any help.

    Any comment or advice would be appreciated a lot!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I wonder why you need a link to your blog, since the theme “Chaotic Soul” is from WordPress and if that’s what you mean you want to add a link on your blog header, I’m a little confused since when people go to your blog, when they click the header, it just comes back to the blog, if it have the SAME link that is on your blog and the custom header, it still the same. I think there’s not an option anyway…

    @lorawow, If that is the one they are talking about. Many people have more than one blog, and here in the forums volunteers have been caught many times trying to solve a problem on one blog only to find out that the OP was asking about a different blog. It is always best to wait for them to provide a link to the blog they are talking about.

    @perfectionistgal, ChaoticSoul is also available for self-hosted blogs so there is always the change they are self-hosted and in the wrong forum. WordPress.COM blogs are different from self-hosted blogs and we have far more restrictions here. If the OP happens to be self-hosted then with a little “hacking” of the theme files they could make the header a link. Here at wordpress.COM, you cannot.

    We also do not know if the OP is talking about linking the header image to his blog here, or if they want to link it to another website that they have that is NOT here at wordpress.COM.

    @TSP: True, but since this blog is running on the specified theme I’m quite sure he’s talking about that one.

    I know a blogger that has 4 blogs here, all with different subject matter and all using the same theme. You may be right that that is the one they are talking about, but I’ve been caught by the “assuming” bug many times in the past.

    I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE A LINK

    @ maniacproductions
    The blog/site linked to your name is not a WordPress.com blog. It you have a wp.com blog, please provide a link.

    @lorawow

    You have been ‘clever’ before detecting a poster’s blog, but as tsp says, the name does not always link to the blog they are asking about. Please do not make assumptions like that!

    @oopsweredead

    (original poster) At WordPress,com the title of the blog links to the home page. But we do not know if your have a blog here. Perhaps you are in the wrong forum. It does make a difference.

    @perfectionistgal
    Some themes used on Wordpre.ss.com are similar to wp.ORG themes. The ORG themes may likely be different and newer or more complicated versions than the ones we can use here on .com.
    So just naming a theme does not mean we can accurately answer questions.
    Provide a link, starting with http:// or link your name to your blog.

    I don’t understand why folk are so shy about linking blogs to names!
    (private blogs. ok. I get those, but if you have a public blog?)

    @lorawow
    I certainly don’t mean to pick on you. Your answers are often fine, but you need to learn not to make assumptions too quickly. Sometimes you can spend quite a bit of energy answering a question for someone, then you find out that the person is talking about a whole different site/blog. And all your answers turn out to be irrelevant. It is very little to ask that someone asking a question here, in this most excellent forum, should provide a link to the blog in question.

    Really, it’ll save you so much time, and save OTHERs so much time, if you train people to always give a direct link when they ask a question. I’ve seen threads that went on for pages before we found out the answers we’d been giving were not appropriate. It’s a lesson learned the hard way.

    You already work hard enough here; make it easier on yourself.
