Make the Custom Header a link part 1000

I’ve searched this a billion times through google and none of the answers end up resolving the issue that originally is posted by the question asker. Is it possible for a free blog hosted by wordpress to have a custom header AND link back to the home page of that blog ? Also why are categories and pages different ? Wouldn’t it make sense to be able to link a post to a separate page with categories ? It seems overly complicated for no reason whatsoever and makes me question the basic outlines of how the wordpress blog outline.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The answers to your questions, in order:

    Yes.

Pages are distinct areas of the internet (“web pages”) for content that doesn’t change. Categories are a way of organizing and navigating through a website. Category pages are ALWAYS lists of posts in that particular category, so the are a sub-type of Page.

    No.

Sorry if it sounded rude it just seemed like a basic feature that would be implimented into wordpress. My follow up question would then be: How does one go about linking their header image back to my ‘home page’. I do plan on purchasing the CSS add on once I learn more about coding (in my schooling) in general. I would very much appreciate the assistance.

CSS won’t do it. You must simply choose a theme that behaves in this way; there are dozens and dozens. Most of them behave this way.
