Make Twitter/FB buttons in the comment form OPT-IN

    I said this when it was announced, and a number of people have since reproduced my complaint – but we should have a choice in this matter. There is no good reason for the Facebook/Twitter buttons to be mandatory. They are ugly, they disagree with many themes, and they are (let’s say) politically controversial for some people.

    We should have complete control over who comments on our blogs, and by what means they do it.
    This is especially true for paying customers.
    Let’s make this opt-in!

    [NB: This is less of a problem for me personally, as I receive few comments. But I still want the choice.]

    yes I agree. If I can’t figure out how to turn them off, I will have to go to another blog site. I’m setting up a private blog and do not want people being able to login just because they have a facebook account.
