Make wordpress.com url my home page.
-
Currently my site url – http://eastonmuseumservices.wordpress.com – gives me a page not found, although it has the main imagery there. To access the site I have to click on the ‘Home’ link.
I tried to change the home page address – http://eastonmuseumservices.wordpress.com/home – to the above url but it won’t allow me to do that.
How can I do this? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

re: front page error message
There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/If you created a static front page or want to do that then make sure you read what follows so you have done it correctly.
You have two choices on any blog
(1) All posts on the front page.
(2) A static front page and posts on a different page.By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
A static page (select below)
Front page:
Posts page:The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Also note that if you have two pages titled Home you create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ and add only the Home page https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages that you want to display in it.

Thanks for the incredibly fast response.
I’m new to wordpress so forgive me if this sounds dumb…
There is a difference here between a blog and a website, right?
I seem to have built a blog.
If I build a website as opposed to a blog I shouldn’t have that ‘problem’, am I correct? -
Your help has solved my issue so disregard the previous question.
Thank you so much for your help. It is most appreciated.
