Making a new website

Hello, I work for a small Charity – we currently have a website created in WordPress – but there are certain elements we can not seem to edit. We have decided to start again from scratch and I am wondering the best way to do this. We would want to keep the existing site running while the new one is being designed.

The account you are contacting us from hasn’t created any sites on WordPress.com yet. What is the address of the existing site you are having trouble editing?
There are two types of WordPress to choose from:
- WordPress.com: where sites are created and hosted on WordPress.com
- WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on another host
We have more information about the differences between the two:
With that in mind, do you want to create and host the site on WordPress.com? If so, it would be possible to start working on a new site here and then map or transfer the domain to us once you are ready to make the switch.
