Making a page into a post
-
I wrote several things at the beginning of blogging, and now I understand that they were meant to be posts, not pages.
Can I convert a page into a post, or do I have to re-do everything. And can I somehow date the post so it is near the beginning of my blog? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, this relates to your other question:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/changing-order-of-past-posts?replies=4Go to the html editor for the page, copy all, open a new post in the html editor, then paste the code there. Change the publication date in the publish module from immediately to the date and time you want, then publish.
Any subscribers you have will receive notification of this new post.

BTW, did you realize you can link your blog to your username so we volunteers won’t have to ask for a link to the blog you are asking about each time you ask a question here?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=12. How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to ‘Account Details’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one. -
Also a reply here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/making-a-page-into-a-post?replies=2You can find previous posts you have made in these forums by clicking on your name at the top where it says, “Welcome, urbankayak” or by clicking on the word “member” under your name. (You can also see what others have posted here previously by clicking on the word under their usernames.)
I note this because posting the same (or such similar) questions repeatedly makes us volunteers crazy: the forums are easier to use if they stay somewhat organized. Multiple posts can result in several volunteers spending time providing the same answer in multiple threads.

When you follow these instructions to turn the page into a post, will the comments people left on the page also be transferred to the post? Thanks!
-
-
You can only transfer them manually: go to Comments, copy comments and comment data (date, username, site URL, mail), log out, submit the comments to the new post yourself, log in, go to Comments again and restore original data.

You CAN actually copy the entire thing and paste it into the Visual editor but only if you’ve already selected “wordpress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” on Settings->General.
