Making a post a page
-
Hi folks,
Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I would like to make my first post a permanent undated page on my blog. How do I do that? At the moment, it’s got a date on it and, in preview, forms a continuous scroll with my second post.
Basically, I want all my future posts to be separate and not form a continuous scroll. Is there a way to make each post separate?
Thanks, David (firstvisiblecat)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What you want to do is not to make a blog at all, but a static web site. For many, MANY reasons this is not a good idea. It’s hard to navigate, it gets unweildy to organize, it has no googlejuice at all. It can be done, but I STRONGLY suggest you not do that.
You can do it, if you must, by copy-pasting the content into a New Page page instead of a New Post page.

Thanks Raincoaster,
Sounds like the voice of experience, so I think I’ll take your advice. The reason I didn’t want the blog to be one continuous page is because my blog is going to be picture heavy and I can remember, from when I had a slow internet connection, that pages like that would take a long time to load or crash. Perhaps those days are over now everyone has broadband though?

Not really. There are many things you can do to increase the speed of your page loads though: use the Read More tag after the first photo, use thumbnails, and so on.

Thanks, I’ll check out the Read More tag. That might be a more elegant fix.
Perhaps I’m getting a bit ahead of myself though. As I don’t have any readers for my blog yet, let alone anyone complaining about slow speed, perhaps I should get down to creating some content instead of messing around with the appearance!
