Making a post invisible on the main page
-
Is it possible to take a new post off the new page?
I’ve got a post that is out of context to my usual posts, but I don’t want to delete it or unpublish.
I want to keep the existing link of the current post, rather than copying the content to a new page for archive. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Your posts should move off the front page as you publish more content. You could reduce the number of posts displayed on a page to move it off the page quicker:

Hmm ok thanks, pitty there is no other way
Other alternatives:
* Temporarily change the status of the post to draft.
* Temporarily change the visibility of the post to private. -
Or just don’t worry about it – publish a new Post that will push the dress down one – the way when folks visit your blog they will still see a “normal” Post
Also use the “More” tag to make the dress Post short and not take up so much space on the front page – try putting the More Tag down at about a browser screen height so folks get by the dress quickly
-
* Make a couple of earlier posts sticky to push them above the post you want to hide. See the Sticky Posts section of the Post Visibility support page.

@ raincoaster,
That was my first thought, but that would modify the URL, and there was in the first post the stipulationI want to keep the existing link of the current post…

Actually, it doesn’t work that way when you set the time of publishing ahead. I don’t think it would work that way when you set the time of publishing in the past. It’s worth a try.
