Making a post private
-
I know I’m supposed to be able to make certain posts private (in fact have done so on my blog on my work intranet), but I don’t seem to have the option here. Is it possibly something to do with the blog template I’m using? or am I missing something obvious? The template in question is called “Garland”.

It’s best to provide a link to your blog starting with http://
or link your nickname to your blog:

special attention to #2 on the list -
No, I want the blog as a whole to be public, but there is a way to lock down posts with a password. Not sure if this is something I’m missing because of my chosen template.

We cannot help without a link to your blog. We have no way of knowing if you are hosted here.

Vivian,
here is the link to my blog.

As I said earlier, we have a version of the WordPress blog working well on our company intranet, and it’s quite clear how to make posts private (or more accuratley password-protected), I just can’t seem to re-create the same functionality here.
Many thanks for your attention

In the post edit window, go to the “publish” module. Click on edit next to “visibility” to see the drop down menu and choose password protect.
-
That method is allow the post title to show in your blog. But only people who know or guess the password will be able to read or comment.
If you choose private, the post won’t show to anyone but the blog administrator.

1tess……….. Thankyou vey much for your guidance……… I really appreciate it…. I was a little confused as I’m running a Linux system at work and a (sometimes) Windows box at home…… the GUI has some differences! :)
