Making a "read more" or summary of the whole post twenty fourteen

I really need your help.
I wanna make my twenty fourteen theme show the homepage with each of my post is shown as a summary (not the whole text).
I need to know how to make my posts showing “read more” sign.please let me know if you can help.

If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
