Making a widget available in wordpress.com

    Hi there,

    We’ve recently created a BAFTA Guru widget – this is widget which pulls through content from the BAFTA Guru website (www.bafta.org/guru).

    The widget can be easily embedded by anyone who has a wordpress.org account but we’d also like to make it available to bloggers with a wordpress.com account.

    I was told this forum was the best place to start, could someone let me know how I might go about making this widget easily accessible to both .org and .com users?

    You have two options, basically: create an HTML-only version, so no javascript, no flash, no iframes, and provide that code to WP.com bloggers OR contact staff and submit your widget for their approval. That can take some time; years in some cases.

    Ahh ok, thank you for the info.

    I’ll speak to our developers about the first option. Do you know the quickest way to contact wordpress staff? or should I just go through the generic contact form?

    There is no way that is quicker than any other way when it comes to contacting Staff. Here’s the link. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
    Note: When we create a support ticket by contacting Staff it’s important to understand they have a backlog. They provide support for 31 million and deal with the support tickets with the earliest dates first. So if we contact them more than once of the same issue the date moves forward and it takes longer to get help.
