Making a WordPress site

  Greetings
  Yesterday, I made arrangements to start a WordPress site, and I agreed to pay a sum of US$ 136, or thereabouts for three years’ subscription. No sooner had I done that than I got a message from an outfit called BlueHost, which asked for a similar sum of money. It was like ‘WordPress is the application, now you have to pay for the host’. As a pensioner, this was out of the question.
  I am an expatriate living in Lao PDR, a long way from family and friends. I produce a monthly newsletter to circulate to 200 contacts and thought it would be simpler on WordPress. But Not at that price.
  Have I got the wrong end of the stick?

  This is the host WordPress.com. Here you can have paid sites cheaper than that or even free sites. Who exactly did you pay? Numerous other companies offer to host sites and use the free wordpress software to build them, The choice is yours.
