Making Blog Searchable

I am having trouble making my blog searchable, both on WordPress.com itself and through search engines. I know both require time to add the blog, but it has been about a month since I started. I have made sure that my blog and all of the postings are public. I followed all of the Google webmaster instructions to make my blog searchable (adding the meta-tag). I would expect it to at least be searchable through Wordpres.com by now, but it still is not. Any suggestions?
