Making categoried posts that do not show up on main page
-
I am new to this so please forgive my lack of blog vernacular.
I am trying to get my personal blog set up much like a women’s club blog that I am editor of. On this particular blog all posts made under a category are not shown on the main page. To see what I mean please see http://www.cpwclub.wordpress.comI did not set up that blog so I have no idea how to make this happen. Perhaps if I had a better understanding of what this is called I could look it up in help files.
My personal blog is www. oddballsoliloquy.wordpress.comCab someone please help me figure out what I need to do or what help file I need to read?

It’s called having a static page as a front page

Let me backpeddle a little bit. While they are using a static front page, they are using the Categories widget in addition to the Pages widget for navigation. Very nicely done.

Bear in mind that until you can’t set up empty categories. As you assign posts to a category, the category will show up in the list.

Thank you! Thank you!
In retrospect I should have thought of static page. I appreciate your help.
