Making Categories Open Up External Link
-
Hi,
I have an online store setup for me by a merchant using their URL with my affiliate ID incorporated. Is there a way of designing a basic site with a static home page where the categories link to the online store (an external link).
For arguments sake let’s say the online store is Toys R Us. If I had categories on my site e.g. boys bikes, garden toys etc can I design it in a way that when someone clicks on that category it gets redirected to the Toys R Us site? Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance for your help. -
No there is not, and that will end up getting your blog here deleted very quickly.
Advertising and such is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.

Bottom line on having a blog here and any sort of links to stores or such is to contact staff directly and explain it to them in detail and provide links to your online store so that they can see what you are wanting to do.
In the past here, if you were selling crafts or art that you made with your own hands, you could have an etsy shop and have one discrete link to it in your sidebar, but having links to it in each post or such was a no-no.

Is it allowed to have reviews and guides for the products here? for example toy guide or toy review blog. In this case how it is possible to show the links to the products in external sites? does it regarded as an advertisement?

If the main purpose of the blog appears to be to generate affiliate income from those links, then that’s going to get your blog suspended. I got one suspended yesterday. But staff says that blogs which exist as real sources as reviews that’s fine.
You might want to submit your blog to staff and ask for an opinion.
