Making Categories Show on Blog?
-
I created a set of test Categories under Posts, and then I assigned a test Post to a Category. When I view the page, I do not see any categories in the right column of the web site.
How do we get the web site to reflect quick links to the Categories we create for Posts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The answer on this question is that Categories are only created for public content. If a Category only had private content it never gets created.

Does anyone know if there is a theme that will show categories on the right column layed out in two dimensions (parent category and sub child categories)? My theme is Twenty Twelve and it is making the parent and the child categories peers to each other. This more or less renders the value of multi-level categories NULL. The category creator sees the organization of categories in parent-child form, but the user of the site does not see this.

I have created 3 categories but they need approving. I have tried approving them but they still don’t show. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks. Helen

No theme will display categories until there is at least one blog post in the category.
Categories do not require approval.

The answer to my section question on showing Category hierarchies is that the Categories widget under Appearance | Widgets has a checkbox for “Show hierarchy.” Select that and the parent and child categories will both show on the category part of a compatible Template.
