making changes to initial setup

  during initial setup I was asked who could see (or search for?) my blog… anybody, anybody but not search engines or just friends. How can I go back and see what my selection was, and how can I change? Can it be changed back and forth? thank you

  It sure can.

  If you go to settings>reading on your dashboard the “site visibility” options are in the middle of the page. All the options you had when you started are there and you can toggle between them as often as you like.

  Note: when you move from a private site to a visible site it can take a while for search engines to start indexing your site, so you won’t be able to “Google” your site and find it in the search results for at least a couple of days. So long as you keep writing content however, eventually it will show up. Conversely, if you make a public site private, it will continue to show up in search results for awhile–but when visitors click the links they won’t be able to access your site.
