Making child (sub) pages visible on the menu bar

I’m constructing a website, using Sydney, that will have several layers of pages (a mix of text and images). I want these sub-layers (‘child pages’) to be visible with the cursor on the menu. After some struggles I found and dded the ‘CC Child Pages’ plugin, which appeared to do the trick (by adding code to the page)…except when those subpages now open, the intro Welcome post gets mixed into their text. I can’t figure out how to remove that Welcome post from the sub/child pages. I’m guessing that the plugin is not working seamlessly with this wordpress site.

Is there another way, perhaps, to make the child pages visible on the menu bar when the cursor hovers over it? Of other suggestions?

    Thank you for your help,
    Michel
