Making comments into a discussion of each blog

    Currently when a person leaves me a comment it shows up at the bottom of each blog as the total number of comments only. To read the comments, you have to click on comments and then you gain access to the comments. I would like that all comments are fully visible at the bottom of each blog and blog readers thus would be encouraged to read and discuss my blogs. Is there a way to do this? Is there a switch I need to turn on to make the comments appear as a discussion? Is there a preference or an option to make this happen? Thanks for the help. My blog is http://jontufts.wordpress.com/ . Oh and what do tags do? Do I need to tag my blogs to get them better read. Most of my blogs are simply ramblings of a 55 year old man trying to survive a diagnosis of cancer. I would welcome getting more comments.

    Regarding comments. Yes, you click on the comments link and read the comments.
    This is hardcoded into the themes. It insures that you front page does not become a mile long and slow down loading time. You cannot change this.

    Oh and one more question. Where do you place a tag on a blog? Is category the same thing as a tag? I just went to my last blog entry and in edit mode I could not find a place marked specifically tags….

    At wordpress.com tags and Categories are used synonymously.
    There are 2 ways to add Categories
    (1) -> Manage -> Categories -> Add Category
    (2) adding categories “on-the-fly” ie. while you are writing a post you can add a belated category that applies to that post by typing the category into the Categories box and clicking “add”
