Making edits to home page

  • Unknown's avatar

My website is currently just a blog so my blog posts make up my homepage. Instead of having them fully on display, I want my home page to have a picture, the title and the blog and just the beginning part so they can click on the blog if they want to read it. This would provide more of a list of my blogs so they can choose what sounds interesting instead of scrolling through every single blog post. Is this a setting or how might I do this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there

It looks like you are looking for options where you want to show a summary instead of the entire article for all the posts on the homepage.

There are three ways to accomplish this.

    1. Adding Excerpts
    2. Select “Summary” in Reading Settings
    3. Add More Tag in every post.

    Adding Excerpts

Adding excerpts is the simplest option where you add a small description inside excerpts box placed in Sidebar of your WordPress editor.

Please note this feature might not work with every theme.

    Reading Setting → Summary

To enable this, you need to enter /wp-admin after your site address.

Once you’ve logged in to the dashboard,

    Go to Settings → Reading
In “For each article in a feed” section, Select “Summary” option to display post summary in homepage.

    More Tag

Adding more tag is probably the simplest one.

Here you need to Add the “Read More” tag after the first few lines of the post to create post summary.

For more details, you can refer to these support documentation.

    I hope this helps you.
