making header smaller

  Hello, i would like to make my header smaller. How can i do this? I’ve created a Storefront-child theme. I do not want to add any picture in my header. I just want to make the black part smaller, so that the part of the menu button becomes smaller and the middle part with my name ‘Mygreatwall’ as well.

  Moreover i would like to delete that little white part between my image slider and the header. How can I do this?
