Making large PDFs of blog posts
-
I would like to print out large, attractive copies of blog posts to distribute, but can’t figure out how to do it. I can make PDFs, but a long post is just chopped into two 8.5×11 pages. If it’s not possible to print posts in legal or tabloid size, I could still take the 8.5x11s somewhere to enlarge them – but first I’d need the whole post on one page. Any suggestions? – Thanks is advance from thepointfitchburgstate.wordpress.com

Hi. You could copy and paste your post into a text processor such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.org, format it whatever way you want (even change the paper size) and then convert it into a PDF with a program like Adobe Professional or PrimoPDF.

Thanks – I just tested that and it works for the text, but doesn’t preserve the layout, typefaces, photos, etc.
I’m trying to do this so that when we publish a restaurant review, for example, we can give the restaurant a nice laminated copy to frame and hang up. Because of this, the look is really important. -
If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, perhaps the Feedfabrik app mentioned here http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/09/07/two-new-apps-for-wordpress-com/ will help.

Feedfabrik is a good suggestion, but because this involves lots of copies for a group with no budget, it has to be free.
My best fix so far: Make a PDF of the post, shrunken to fit onto one page; copy the section of the PDF to reproduce, and past it to Paint; use Paint to make a jgp; print the jpg.
Still open to other, simpler suggestions … -
